CLAUDETTE ABRAMS

Claudette Abrams is a multi-media artist, curator, art advisor and art educator. Her work in immersive art installation, employs multi-media such as photography, holography, projection, fabricated material construction and site-specific installation.

She is an instructor of photo-based art courses at the CAMH and has instructed at the Ontario College of Art & Design. She has served on juries for public art commissions and for Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council grants. She curates and produces international exhibitions programs for both public and private arts organizations such as: Contact Photography Festival, Toronto Media Art Centre, Artscape, The Artists Project, Luminato, Nuit Blanche and Art Toronto International Art Fair.

Claudette Abrams’ work is placed in public collections and has been exhibited in international venues such as the Deutesches Filmmuseum Germany, Ministry of Culture Spain, International Biennale Tokyo/Nagoya Japan, the Royal Ontario Museum and Art Toronto International Art Fair. For her work in contemporary multi-media arts, she has received several grants and awards, including the Shearwater Foundation Fellowship.
